Garden Volunteer

Time Commitment: Flexible

Position Description:

Sow America is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a garden volunteer. The primary responsibilities of this role include:

• Assisting with the construction and maintenance of community gardens, including preparing soil, planting seeds and seedlings, and watering and weeding as needed
• Providing support to local coordinators and volunteers as needed
• Participating in regular garden clean-up and maintenance days
• Providing education and support to garden users on best practices for gardening and sustainability
• Keeping track of garden progress and reporting back to the Sow America team on a regular basis

Qualifications:

• Strong interest in gardening and sustainability
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting
• Ability to follow instructions and take initiative
• Physical ability to engage in gardening tasks, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods of time
• Commitment to the mission of Sow America
