Position Summary:
The Board Member will be a key member of the leadership team at Sow America, a non-profit organization whose mission is to regenerate land and communities through the education of agriculture, entrepreneurship, and self-improvement.
The Board Member will be responsible for providing strategic guidance and support to the organization, as well as representing the interests of the organization to external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend and participate in monthly board meetings, and contribute to the development and implementation of the organization’s strategic plan.
- Provide guidance and oversight to the organization’s leadership team, ensuring that the organization is operating in accordance with its mission and values.
- Represent the organization to external stakeholders, including donors, partners, and the community.
- Participate in fundraising efforts and assist with the development of funding proposals.
- Help to identify and recruit new board members and other volunteers as needed.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated commitment to the mission and values of Sow America.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in fundraising, financial management, and/or non-profit management is a plus.
- Willingness to commit a minimum of 10 hours per month to the organization.
